First Division

Tripimeni 5 Apoel 4

It’s got to be the game of the season and what a game it was. Apoel were coasting through the game with the first goal coming in the 10th minute when Andre McCollins turned and scored from just inside the box , he even hit the cross bar two minutes later. Then in the 20th minute a Tripimeni defensive mix up allowed Danny Aristidou of Apoel to shoot and hit the post with the ball coming out hitting the chest of the oncoming Michael Spencer for Apoel’s second goal, McCollins then added a third.

I just don’t know what happened after that it seems Tripimeni ‘s morning alarm went off and they woke up leading with Ahmet Rifat  scoring with a back header soon after George Gregoriou added a second  and Loucas Perdicos a third to make it 3-3.

Michael Spencer scored a 4th for Apoel to put them back in the lead but again there was no holding back Tripimeni Ramir Rifat scored with a penalty to equalise then it was all end to end action with Safraz Pivano scoring in the dying minutes to give Tripimeni a vital win.

New Salamis 3 Livadia 2

Champions New Salamis also had a fright when they had a fight on their hands when they were two nil down to Livadia who really are putting themselves about in the first division with some stylish attacking football. The first division newcomers’ goals came from Leo and Elias whose fantastic long distance shot left the New Salamis keeper with no chance to save it.

Livadia kept that lead until the 70th minute and in the space of fifthteen minutes New Salamis scored three goals with Deniz 2 and Richard Georgiou.

Rizokarpasso 6 Cetinkaya Cinar 1

Rizokarpasso are having a good start to the season and are unbeaten after three games with nine points.

Cetinkaya started the game well when a pass from Sheldon found Jem JemaL to score the first goal and their only goal of the game in the first minute. Within a few minutes Rizokarpasso equalised with Ricardo who then followed by adding a second. Then a long kick from Rizo’s new signing goal keeper Nick Christofi found Leon Semper who latched onto the ball to make it 3-1. Luke Crowe then made it 4-1 with a tremendous free kick from outside the box.

Harry Vazanias scored the fifth with a well placed shot from outside the box. The final Rizokapasso goal was scored by Anthony Macdonald making it 6-1.

Olympia 0 Omonia 1

Both these teams are much improved and as expected it was going to be a close match with Omonia coming out on top with a goal from Chris Philippou.

This is Omonia’s second win of the season and puts them in fourth position.

Komi Kebir 0 Aradippou 4

Aradippou led two nil from the first half with goals from Jed and George Michael. The second half Komi Kebir tried very hard to get back into the game but two late goals from Aradippou with Shane and an own goal put a stop to that giving Aradippou their first league win of the season.

Second Division

Arachne 3 Cyprus Youth (KLN) 1

Arachne kept their lead at the top of the table and unbeaten too after four games. They were leading 1-0 in the first ten minutes with a goal from Rohan Reid after a scramble in the box. KLN equalised ten minutes later with a header from Jake Laoudas . Arachne then regained the lead aftwer Anthony Panayi was brought down and Damien Spyrou converted the penalty.Just before half time Chris Constantinides scored with a header from a Rohan Reid free kick. The second half Arachne saw the game out and kept their lead intact.

Pendayia 2 Brotherhood 3

What a ding dong game this was with Brotherhood leading after five minutes with goal king Aaron Kennedy. Pendayia who are slowly becoming a team to be weary of scored two goals in as many minutes 25th and 27th minute to lead 2-1 with goals from Duncan and Sami and were going great guns until late in the game when Brotherhood scored two goals with Andy Gregoriou in the 75th minute and a Paul Yiannakas free kick in the 87th minute to keep Brotherhood in the promotion race.

Anorthosis 6 All Saints 1

Anorthosis are getting stronger every week  and have become a very formidable side and leading the scoring ranks is Danny Coolridge  who banged in a hat trick Wayne scored one , Stavros Theocharous one and Kevin Boateng. All Saints are only just getting it together as they have recently reformed I am sure they will be improving as the weeks go by.

Maronites 2 Pantel 3

This was a game of two halves. Pantel took Maronites by surprise to win their first game of the season. Pantel were leading 3-0 half time with goals from Danny, Ian and Alex.

Tom Boxer scored in the 60th and 86th minutes to make the final score 3-2 and lift Pantel off the foot of the table.

Asha 0 Achna 2

Achna are trying very hard to keep in touch with the other promotion contenders with a two nil win over Asha with both their goals coming from Larry Bediako. Achna have been a revelation this season after struggling last season.
