Greek American to become US Ambassador in Norway
The White House announced Tuesday the appointment of Greek-American businessman and philanthropist , George Tsouni as U.S. Ambassador to Norway.
His appointment must be ratified by the Senate and the hearings before the Foreign Relations Committee are expected to take place in October.
George Tsounis, operates hotels and real estate and has been actively involved in the activities of the Greek lobby in Washington. He is the founder and CEO of Chartwell Hotels, LLC, which manages hotels for chains like Hilton, Marriott and Intercontinental in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states of America.
In 2011 he was awarded by the Cyprus Federation of America for his great work to Cyprus
