Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot political party leaders will meet on September 25 in the buffer zone in Nicosia, in the framework of the bicommunal dialogue organised by the Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Cyprus.
According to a press release, the meeting will begin at 1030 local time at the Ledra Palace in Nicosia, and a statement on the dialogue will follow.
The Slovak Εmbassy in Cyprus has been engaged since 1989 in a bicommunal dialogue, and hosts regular sessions between Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot political parties at Ledra Palace hotel, in the UN-controlled buffer zone, dividing the northern Turkish occupied part of the island from the southern government controlled areas.
Cyprus has been divided since 1974, when Turkey invaded and occupied its northern third.
