Anorthosis were still joint top of the table yesterday after notching its third win of the season crushing Alki in Larnaca in an easy 4-0 victory.
After impressive displays against Omonia and Apollon at home, this was their first away game and an easy one at that against lowly Alki.
Anorthosis have a hundred percent record on 9 points and sit at the top of the league table.
However, Portuguese coach Jorge Costa said he was happy about the win but not with his team’s performance, as they did not play the way he wanted.
Surprise package AEK Kouklia impressed again with a 2-0 victory against Aris Limassol making it a second win this season.
It was the first loss for Aris which was left with 4 points after wining against Alki and a draw with Doxa Katokopias.
Ethnikos Achnas got their first points on the board with a first win this season after scoring two goals against Famagusta’s Nea Salamina, who lost both away games this season.
In Saturday’s games Doxa were defeated 4-2 by Ermis Aradippou – it was their first loss and a second win for Ermis.
AEL Limassol also won three on the spin with a 3-1 victory over hapless Enosis Neon Paralimni, giving them 9 points.
Apollon Limassol will tonight face Omonia at home, while Apoel play against AEK Larnaca in Nicosia. Both games are scheduled 7pm kick-offs.
