Cypriot Foreign Minister to hold series of meetings in New York

Minister of Foreign Affairs Ioannis Kasoulides will hold a series of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the 68th UN General Assembly, that takes place in New York.

His bilateral meetings include Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan, Guatemala, Marocco, Iraq, Australia, Montenegro, Libya, China, Thailand, Kuwait, Jordan, Iran, Argentina as well as the President of Palestine.

Kasoulides, who accompanies President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades during his visit to the US between 21 – 28 September, will also participate in the UN high level conferences for innovative financing and nuclear disarmament, the ECOSOC meeting for human rights and the meeting of the Commonwealth Foreign Ministers.

The Cypriot Foreign Minister will also participate in the separate meetings between the EU Foreign Ministers, the US and Russia as well as the ministerial meeting for the Middle East.

On Sunday, he will participate in the tripartite ministerial meeting between Cyprus – Egypt and Greece, which will examine the current situation in the Eastern Mediterranean and other issues of mutual concern, focusing on energy.

The Cypriot FM will be accompanying President Anastasiades during his bilateral meetings in New York and his meeting in Washington with Vice President of the United States, Joe Biden
