Talented young Berlin-based Cypriot artist Haris Epaminonda is one of four artists from around the world short-listed for Germany’s National Gallery Prize for Young Art.
The 2013 winner will be announced at an award-ceremony this Thursday at the Hamburger Bahnhof – Museum für Gegenwart – Berlin (Museum for Contemporary Art).
Internet users can visit www.art-magazin.de/extra/44673/ to vote for Epaminonda, selected for the final four from amongst over 140 candidates, making her nomination an honour in itself. Artists who have been nominated in the past often feature at top events on the international art scene.
The other three nominees are New Zealander Simon Denny, Mexico’s Mariana Castillo Deball and Germany’s own Kerstin Brätsch. All four are displaying their work in a joint exhibition at the Hamburger Bahnhof (Hamburg Station) as part of the ‘Preis der Nationalgalerie’ competition.
