Ban and Erdogan discussed the developments in Syria and the Cyprus issue
The UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and the Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan discussed on Friday the latest developments in Syria and the Cyprus issue.
In a meeting they had in the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Saint Petersburg, Russia, they discussed the latest developments in Syria and the international community’s response. The Secretary-General briefed the Prime Minister on the UN chemical weapons investigation.
On Cyprus, according to an announcement issued by the UN, the Secretary-General welcomed Turkey’s continued commitment to achieving a mutually acceptable and lasting solution and encouraged it to continue to play a positive role in support of this process.
