Attempted murder in Limassol

An Iranian whose application for political asylum was rejected in 2011 is in critical condition in Limassol hospital after a stabbing.
He was found with multiple stab wounds in the Dasoudi area of Limassol early on Sunday morning. Police said the 31 year old was taken to a private clinic and then the hospital. They said the call for an ambulance was made by his Sri Lankan girl friend who has since disappeared..Both are understood to be living on the island illegally.
