A MOTORIST believed to be in his 50s suffered a suspected heart attack before his car hit a road island in Edmonton this afternoon.

At around 1.15pm, police officers witnessed a man losing control of his car in Nightingale Road, near the junction with Hertford Road.

The car subsequently hit a road island and came to a halt. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.

Paramedics from the London Ambulance Service were called to the scene. An LAS spokewoman said: “We were called to reports of a man in his 50s believed to be having a heart attack. We sent a car and an ambulance to the scene and the man was taken to the London Chest Hospital.”

The condition of the man is currently unknown
