Greece’s Communist Party(KKE) sold its 902 TV and radio station to a Cypriot company on the understanding that the broadcaster will not be transferred to another political grouping, it was revealed on Monday.
KKE has been under pressure since last week to reveal details about the transaction. The party said the new owner is a company called A-Orizon Media Ltd, which was established in Limassol by a local lawyer. The party said it had to sell 902 to pay its employees and social security contributions.
Further details about the purchaser were not revealed. “We still have not been told by the KKE leadership who is behind this company, how much 902 was sold for and what will happen to the employees,” said leftist MP Dimitris Papadimoulis.
