Briton dies in Cyprus gardening accident
A 69 year old Briton living in Polemi has died after being fatally injured with an electric saw while pruning a palm tree in his garden, the Cyprus News Agency said on Sunday.
The accident occurred around 6.00 pm on Saturday. The man, who is a permanent resident in Polemi, Paphos, was trying to clear a large palm tree when he appeared to have lost control of the saw and was injured in the groin.
His wife called for help. A private doctor gave first aid pending the arrival of the ambulance that transferred the man to Paphos hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.
A post mortem will be held on Monday to establish the exact cause of death. Police are continuing their investigation
