Andreas Papaevripides is the new president of POMAK
Andreas Papaevripides has been elected as the new President of the World Federation of Overseas Cypriots (POMAK), at an election procedure that took place in the framework of the annual conference of representatives of Greek and Cypriot organizations abroad.
Papaevripides was elected securing 42 votes.
Peter Drousiotis, President of the National Federation of Cypriots in the UK secured 36 votes and was elected as Vice- President of POMAK.
Overseas Cypriots held on 21 and 22 August in Nicosia, the 17th meeting of the International Conference of Overseas Cypriots (POMAK-PSEKA), together with the conference of the Executive Council of the Organization of Young Overseas Cypriots (NEPOMAK).
Andreas Papaevripides lives in London he was born 24th April 1952 in the village of Kato Pyrgos, Tyllirias. He attended Morphou Gymnasium, Hackney Technical College, Chelsea College and London School of accountancy.
He is married with two sons and his hobbies and interests are politics, history, football and shooting.
In the UK he has his own accountancy practice. He is the Chairman of the Democratic Rally party in the UK, has served as the Vice President of the National Federation of Cypriots in the UK now treasurer of the Federation. He also served as the General secretary of the Cypriot Football League in the UK from 1975 to 1981. In his youth he was President of the National Union of Cypriot students in England (E.F.E.K.A).
