Cyprus women’s team in 4×100m clinched the silver medal in the 17th Mediterranean Games held in Mersine, Turkey, breaking the national record with 44.79.

Skevi Andreou, Ramona Papanioannou, Demetra Kyriakidou and Eleni Artymata comprised the Cypriot team which broke the national record, that stood at 45.40 since June 2005.

Cyprus now ranks 14th, with seven medals, two gold, two silver and three bronze.

The Games finish on Sunday.
