Unemployment rose to 14% of the working population in February from 13.7% in January, according to data released Tuesday by Eurostat.
The average unemployment rate in the eurozone stood at 12.0% while across the EU it was 10.9% (10.8% in January).
Regarding the individual performance of Cyprus in February, the unemployment rate for men was 13.9%, for women14.1% and for young people under 25 it was 31.8%.
The average unemployment rate in the Eurozone among men was 11.9%, 12.0% in women and 23.9% for young people.
For Greece, Eurostat data relating to November, showed the overall unemployment rate reached 26.4%, which the highest in the EU. In Greece, the unemployment rate for men was 24.3%, in women 29.3% and young people under 25 years 58.4%.
The three countries that recorded the largest increase in unemployment in one year was Greece (from 21.4% to 26.4%), Cyprus (from 10.2% to 14.0%) and Portugal (from 14 8% to 17.5%).
