Two men have died and another is in critical condition after a car crash on the Astromeritis to Evryhou road during the early hours of Thursday.
Police say that at around 4.40am a car driven by 21-year-old Christoforos Christoforou,  with front-seat passenger Giorgios Chrisi, aged 22, and back-seat passenger Panayiotis Vlachou, aged 21, careered off the road, struck a roadside barrier and then hit a tree before overturning.
The victims were trapped inside the wreckage and had to be freed by firemen.
Christoforou and Chrisi were pronounced dead at the scene while Vlachou was taken to Nicosia General Hospital where he remains in critical condition.
Morfou police station is investigating the circumstances of the crash.
