Raid on Bush Hill Park home connected with internet scam
A man was arrested today during a police operation targeting people involved in an internet scam which tricks people out of their bank details.
Officers raided a property in Lynmouth Avenue in Bush Hill Park at approximately 7am and arrested the 23-year-old man.
The police, from Police Central eCrime Unit and the Serious Organised Crime Agency, also arrested at 20-year-old man living in North Circular Road in Barnet in connection with the scam.
The suspects are being interviewed in north London police stations and their computers and digital equipment have been seized for examination.
The pair were arrested as part of an operation targeting rogue emails designed to encourage internet users to give up their bank login details.
Once handed over, the information can be resold or used instantly for fraudulent transactions.
