Τhe Ethnos on Sunday in Athens has revealed the names of six thousand individuals and legal persons in Cyprus that transferred money abroad from the first through to the 15th March, the eve of a Eurogroup decision for a haircut on deposits in Cyprus banks over 100 thousand euro.
The list had been submitted earlier in the week to the parliamentary ethics committee by the Central Bank and the relevant file is being kept in parliaments’ security room. Τhe paper only reveals first names or the amount of money transferred, noting that politicians, senior bank officials and companies were among those who benefited from preferential information. The amounts transferred include almost one and a half billion euro, one and a half billion dollars, 37 point 4 million pounds sterling and almost 11 billion rubles. The list included the name of President Anastasiadis’ eldest daughter, who said that the amounts in her name are transfer orders that she undertook on behalf of clients in the legal firm which she manages.
