A 20-year-old man shot in a park in Tottenham in the early hours of Monday morning was pursued by up to six people before being sheltered by a family.
The victim was shot in Markfield Park, on Gladesmore Road, just after 4.30am. He attempted to evade his attackers by banging on the front door of the young family’s home.
They let him in before calling the emergency services.
The man has serious injuries and remains in a stable condition in hospital. The incident is being investigated by the Trident shootings team. Officers are appealing for witnesses as at this stage, they do not know if any suspects arrived or left the scene on a vehicle.
A spokeswoman from London Ambulance Service confirmed the shot man was taken to hospital as a “priority”, after finding him at the family’s house.
