Detectives investigating the murder if Zafer Eren (Photo above) in Southgate have arrested a 20 year old man [A] on suspicion of murder. He is currently in custody at a central London police station.

Police were called at approximately 19.20hrs to Fontaine Court, High Street N14 to reports of a shooting.

Police and the London Ambulance Service attended and Mr Eren was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination at Finchley Mortuary gave cause of death as gunshot wounds to the chest.

An inquest opened and adjourned on Tuesday 23 April at Finchley.

An incident room has opened under DCI Steven Lawrence at the Homicide and Serious Crime Command.
