Members of the banking union Etyk have walked off the job for two hours in an effort to protect their provident funds.
They stopped work at 12.30 and will remain on strike until 2.30pm. At 3pm union members will gather outside the Etyk HQ in Nicosia and will then march on the House of Representatives.
In an announcement yesterday, ETYK said it followed with great concern the developments on the subject of the agreement with the troika and the imminent signing of the Memorandum.
“Despite all the promises and so far the Government’s commitment and political leadership, the issues concerning our future and our children’s future are still in limbo,” it said.
