Most people recognize Marina Sirtis as Deanna Troi from “Star Trek: The Next Generation.” Now, the Cypriot -British actress has taken on a role in another popular television show, “NCIS.”
Sirtis has joined the cast of the CBS drama to play Mossad Director Orli Elbaz. “NCIS” centers on a fictional team of special agents from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service, which conducts criminal investigations involving the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. The previous Mossad head, Eli David, was killed off and Elbaz is his replacement.
The 56-year-old was born in London to Cypriot parents. She moved to Los Angeles during the 1980s, which is when she landed the part on “TNG” that led to a seven-season run on the series and a role in four of the franchise’s films. Sirtis has also appeared on “Girlfriends,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” and Deathwish 3 as well as numerous other television shows and films.
