Apoel cement their lead at the top

League leaders APOEL enjoyed an emphatic win over title rival Anorthosis in the big game of the day winning 2-0 at the Antonis Papadopoulos stadium to end the regular season with a six point advantage with just six games to go. Goals from Dudu Bitton in 68 minutes and Nuno Morais in the 80th minute earned the three points and gives the Nicosia side a decisive advantage as the title race heads for the home stretch. A tight first half left the match delicately poised but the away team took control and made the better chances in the second half. APOEL have now kept eight clean sheets in a row and go into the last six games full of confidence. Their first opponents will be local rivals Omonia.
