Thousands of protesters have gathered outside the House of Representatives building on Tuesday afternoon to demonstrate against a draft bill concerning an unprecedented levy to be imposed on savings in Cyprus banks (haircut) discussed by the House plenary.

The road outside the building has been closed by the Police. Demonstrators hold banners and chant slogans such as“Cyprus belongs to its people”, “Troika get out of Cyprus”, “Independence- Democracy-Freedom.”
