Money for Cyprus Banks flown in from Germany
Millions of euro notes that will be used by Cyprus banks when they reopen on Thursday were flown in from Germany on Wednesday afternoon, the Cyprus News Agency reported.
Citing informed sources, CNA said millions of notes had been flown in aboard a special flight from Frankfurt, seat of the European Central Bank, at 16.40 on Wednesday..They will be made available for banks which re-open to the public at midday tomorrow after nearly two weeks.
CNA said the notes were taken under strong police escort to the Central Bank in Nicosia.
