Anorthosis dropped another two valuable points on Saturday when they were held to a 1- 1 draw by Ael in Limassol. The point brought them equal to APOEL in top place, but the Nicosia club has solid hopes of breaking three points  ahead in the penultimate match before the playoffs when they host lowly Paphos at the GDP on Sunday. Omonia boosted its chances of securing a place in the top four that lead to the plaoffs when they trounced Olympiacos 4-1 in Nicosia. This comes at the expense of Ael who see their chances of a top four finish fade further after Saturday’s draw. Third placed Aek secured an important victory when it swept aside Enosis Neon Paralimni  5 -0. Ethnikos Achnas beat Doxa 3-1 while Nea Salamina beat Apollonat home 2-0. Alki managed an important away win, beating Ayia Napa 0-3
