A 34 year old was on Sunday remanded in police custody for eight days in connection with two separate shooting incidents in Kophinou on Saturday which led to one death and four injuries. The suspect, who was named as Prodromos Hadjipanayi was remanded in police custody by Limassol District Court which convened in Limassol Hospital where the supect is being treated after being involved in a traffic accident. Police said the suspect was involved in a car accident on the Aradippou –Avdilero road and slightly injured. Police who sped to the scene recognized him as the man who was being sought for the shooting and arrested him. Hadjipanayi is suspected of having shot and killed Panicos Stavrou, 54, from Avgorou and injured his son, George Georghiou, 27, over a property dispute. He is also suspected of having opened fire at a grocery store nearby, injuring three others – the two owners with whom he has a different property dispute, brothers Adamos and Panayiotis Lambrou and Katie Charalambous who was shot in the leg suffering heavy bleeding. Two of the victims are in critical condition
