England full-back Dunia Susi wants to win the Cyprus Cup and lay down a marker ahead of this summer’s European Championship.
The Three Lions will take on Canada in Wednesday’s final, having beaten Italy and New Zealand and drawn with Scotland in the group stage.
The Canadians picked up a bronze medal at London 2012 and have continued in a similar vein in this tournament, winning all three of their group matches.
But Susi believes England are good enough to pick up the right result against a side ranked seventh in the world.
The 25-year-old said: “It was important that we got to this final.
“The last time we did that we then [in 2009] we then got to the final of the Euros so it could be a good stepping stone for us ahead of the summer.
“With the Euros in mind, it’s important that we get into winning habits and that we learn from playing in tournaments like this. And winning trophies will only give us confidence.
Susi added: “A lot of us were involved when Canada knocked Team GB out of the Olympics so this is a chance for a bit of revenge.
“Canada are obviously a very good team but on our day we can beat anyone, so hopefully we can put on a good enough performance on Wednesday.”
