A stolen JCB was used to rip an cash machine from a Crouch End petrol station wall in the early hours of thursday morning

A gang of thieves took the JCB from a neighbouring building site, then used it to remove the cash machine from the wall of the Shell in Park Road at about 4.50am.

The suspects – who had their faces covered – then put the machine in the back of a white van, which was displaying false registration plates, before driving off.

They left the JCB at the scene.
