Larnaca hotel suffers fire damage

Police said a hotel in Larnaca under renovation was torched Tuesday night and suffered extensive damage.

The fire at the Princess Hotel on the Larnaca-Dhekelia road started in reastaurant and spread to other parts of the building.

The hotel was due to open shortly.

In a separate case, police  are also investigating a case of arson in Paphos where a dawn fire caused extensive damage to a tyre store in Paphos.

Fire fighters fought for an hour to contain the blaze under difficult conditions, as burning tyres sent thick black smoke into the air.
