Greek Prime Minister Antonis Samaras arrived in Cyprus on Saturday on a two-day visit ahead of his pre-scheduled trip to Oslo in Norway where he will receive the Nobel Peace Prize along with Angela Merkel, Jose Manuel Barroso and other European leaders. On Sunday morning, Samaras attended the memorial service of former Cyprus President Tassos Papadopoulos while he also met with House President Yiannakis Omirou, AKEL General Secretary Andros Kyprianou and DIKO President Marios Garoyan. On Saturday night, the Greek Prime Minister had dined with President Demetris Christofias. Samaras departed Cyprus for Munich at around midday on Sunday where he was set to meet the prime minister of Bavaria before departing for Norway on Monday. The ceremony will be held at the Oslo City Hall, and the prize is always given on December 1 -, the anniversary of Nobel’s death.
