Football leaders from the divided north and south of Cyprus have held their first formal meetings in more than four years.

Officials from the unofficial Cyprus Turkish Football Association says they “exchanged views and ideas” with a delegation from the FIFA-recognized Cyprus FA in Limassol this week.

The CTFA, representing the occupied part of the Mediterranean island, says the parties will meet again in December.

The meetings did not involve the most senior Cypriot official in world football, Marios Lefkaritis, who is an executive committee member at FIFA and UEFA.
