Cyprus President Demetris Christofias will pay a visit to Rome on Wednesday October 17, 2012.
During the one-day visit, President Christofias will hold tete-a-tete meetings with Italian President Giorgio Napolitano and with the Prime Minister Mario Monti. The main issues to be discussed in the meetings will be the economic crisis in the Eurozone, the Cyprus question and regional issues.
During his stay in Rome, Christofias will inaugurate with his Italian counterpart an exhibition of Cypriot antiquities.
President Christofias will be accompanied by Minister of Communication and Works Efthymios Flourentzou, Education Minister George Demosthenous and Director of Antiquities Department Maria Hadjicosti.
President Christofias departs for Rome from Brussels, where he will attend the European Development Days Forum.
After his visit to Italy, President Christofias will return to Brussels in order to participate at the EU Summit on 18-19 October 2012.
