The Stockholm Open is underway and Marcos begins his campaign on Tuesday in the Swedish capital.  Hopefully, good memories will abound for Marcos, who took this title in 2009 after triumphing over Olivier Rochus in the final. After the recent impressive form Marcos exhibited in Asia, with a semi-final place in Tokyo and his strong run in Shanghai ended only by current World No 6 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Marcos will be hoping to build on this success in Sweden.

In his first match, Marcos faces 21-year-old Belgian, David Goffin, who is currently ranked No.48 in the world.  Goffin, considered an exciting prospect in the tennis world, is one of the breakthrough players of 2012. This year has seen Goffin reach his first ATP World Tour quarter-final in Chennai and make the last 16 of the French Open where, although he lost out eventually, he took the opening set against Roger Federer.

This will be the first time that Marcos and Goffin have met. Clearly, Marcos has more experience, but he will be expecting a tough game against this rising talent.
