Three men robbed two jewellers from Larnaca on Wednesday – a father and son aged 60 and 31 – intercepting their moving car and robbing them of €20,000, their mobile phones and car keys, police said.
The hooded and armed men stopped the jewellers’ car on Wednesday evening while they were driving on the Psevda-Lymbia road with another man, a foreigner who was due to sell them jewellery.
Another car blocked their path and “out came three persons,” said Larnaca police spokesman Christos Andreou.
He said that police found the intercepting vehicle in the area burning. “The vehicle was completely destroyed,” Andreou said.
Authorities obtained a testimony against a 22-year-old Arabic speaker who was spotted in the scene in his car. He was arrested yesterday but let go later in the day, Andreou said.
