Larnaca flights affected by air traffic controllers’ strike in Greece
– Seven flights in total, four departures and three arrivals, from and to Larnaca International Airport are expected to be affected on Wednesday from the three-hour strike of air traffic controllers in Greece.
In statements to CNA, spokesman for Cyprus airports Adamos Aspris said that due to the three-hour strike in Greece the programme of flights from and to Larnaca International Airport will be affected.
The strike began at 1000 local time (0700 GMT) and will last until 1300. Aspris said that according to data of Hermes Airports Operation Center, seven flights will be affected in total – four departures and three arrivals. Two of these flights have been cancelled, while the other five have been rescheduled.
He noted that all of these flights were going to be carried out from and to the airports of Athens and Thessaloniki, and that one thousand passengers will be affected.
Aspris said that the public has been notified that affected airlines have already rescheduled their programme and he called on those interested to contact airlines and tour operators before going to Larnaca International Airport.
