There was a wild car chase and gunfire on Wednesday night at the Ayios Dometios checkpoint in the occupied areas.
So-called police officers of the puppet state opened fire at a car driven by an asylum seeker currently living in Limassol as he attempted to cross into the government-controlled areas.
According to reports, the driver seems to have refused to stop when he was flagged down, and picked up speed as he approached to check-point towards the free-area.
The man abandoned the car at the check-point and ran away.
The car was damaged by the gunfire, one of the bullets piercing the car’s front dashboard.
