Once again the Midlands team of Cypriot Golfers (Pictured above) were too strong  on their home territory when they thrashed the London based Cypriot Golf Society team(_Photo Bottom of the page) 11.5 points to 6.5.

 The 17^th Annual Challenge Match, Ryder Cup, between the Cypriot Golf Society (CGS) versus the Midlands Greek Cypriot and Friends Golf Society  (MGCFGS) was held on Wednesday 19^th September at the Warwickshire Golf & Country Club. Twelve members from each Society played fourball better ball matchplay competition in the morning and singles matchplay in the afternoon.

  In the morning fourball matches the CGS team did very well leading 3.5 points to 2.5 points. The afternoon singles turned out in favour of the MGCFGS as they won match after match.

 After the evening meal both captains spoke thanking their team players and praising the friendliness and sportsmanship of these matches. Charlie Economou presented the trophies to the CGS team and Michael Tsangarides presented the Ryder Cup to Charlie and trophies to the MGCFGS team.
