It was great to see all twenty clubs take part in the Christos Seven a Side tournament that took place at the Recreation Stadium at Underhill Stadium on Sunday. Maronites played too for which all the League Clubs clapped in admiration after the tragic event of their player Michael Tzouvanni dying in Thailand.

Omonia FC were there cooking up the Kebabs. The Barnet Pavilion was open where drinks were served and live football was shown on TV.

The two new Clubs Asha and Livadia were playing their first KOPA League competitive games.

The competition was split into four groups and there were some shocks in the group stages with Arachne beating Brotherhood 1-0 Olympia beat Tripimeni 2-1 and Komi Kebir beating Cetinkaya Cinar 1-0 but the biggest shock was new Team Livadia beating New Salamis 2-0.

The two top teams from each group then went into the quarter finals Group One winners were Achna, runners up Apoel. Group two winners  Livadia, runners up New Salamis. Group Three winners were Dynamo, runners up Tripimeni. Group Four winners Rizokarpasso , runners up Komi Kebir.

The tension was now building up in the late stages. In the semi finals Dynamo beat Apoel on penalties and Tripimeni beat New Salamis 1-0 giving a final of Dynamo versus Tripimeni.

What an exciting final it was both teams really battled with end to end action but could not break the deadlock they went 0-0 into extra time again finishing 0-0 going into penalties which Tripimeni won.
