Police have reported that electronic equipment and jewellery worth 85,000 euros was stolen over the weekend from a tourist who was renting a house in Pyla.
In a statement given by Larnaca Police spokesman, Sergeant Christos Andreou Larnaca, reported that: “yesterday a man who is renting a house in the tourist area of Pyla, has reported that between 19.00 – 21.30 an unknown person or persons entered the house and stole various electronic items, jewellery and other valuables worth a total of 85 000 euros. ”
He added: “Police investigations have found that the perpetrator or perpetrators entered the house through a window that had been left open. Police will continue their investigation and attempt to identify the perpetrator. ”
Andreou reiterated his previous warning to the public “that when leaving their homes people should ensure that all windows and doors are closed and locked.”
