A surge in attacks against betting shops on the island continued last night after two betting outlets, one in Nicosia and the other in Limassol, fell prey to robbers.

Unknown culprits in Limassol broke into a 46 year old man’s betting shop and made off with 29 television sets, 48 computers, several printers and the store’s CCTV system.

Meanwhile in Nicosia, robbers broke into a 62 year old man’s betting agency and made off with a pouch containing 11 thousand euros in cash.

Police are investigating the incidents.
