Andrew Savva won the Masters Cup with 35 points at Stoke Park Golf Club. He played steady golf and putted well on very difficult greens. Andrew won on count back from Andy Odysseos who also scored 35 points. This was Andrew’s second win of the year having already won the Committee and Past Captains Competition in July. He also won the Texas Scramble in 2004, the Fourball in 2007 and the Cypressa Cup in 2008.
Stoke Park Golf Club is one of the top 100 golf courses in England with a magnificent clubhouse and many other sporting facilities. The Masters Cup was played last Tuesday the 11th September.
Fifty members of the Cypriot Golf Society participated in the Masters Cup. The Masters Cup was sponsored by Takis Kleanthous and Big K Charcoal Merchants Ltd.
The Captains charity sweepstakes raised £355.00 on the day for a total of £2185.00 up to date. Michael Tsangarides favourite charity is Breathing Life. The Captain’s team on the day: the sponsor Takis Kleanthous, Andreas Manitaras and Chris Philippou. Doros Partasides filmed the event for RIK TV.
In the evening there was a Barbeque meal and the Captain Michael Tsangarides and Takis Kleanthous presented the trophies to the winners:

On Wednesday 19th September the annual challenge Ryder Cup type match against our cousins from the Midlands will be held at the Warwickshire Golf Club. Each team will be represented by twelve members. Nine of the players qualify through the Order of Merit and the captain has 3 wild card picks.
The Cypriot Golf Society team: The Captain Michael Tsangarides, Chris Antoniou, Chris Philippou, Tony Kourea, Kyriacos Kyriacou, Tony Philippou, Andreas Stylianou, Panayiotis Krase, Andreas Manitaras and Lakis Chrysostomou. The captain has not named his other two wild picks as yet.
