Water arch welcomes Cypriot first Olympic silver medalist home

Larnaca, Aug 8 (CNA) – A water arch will welcome on Thursday evening in Cyprus Cypriot Olympic silver medalist Pavlos Kontides.

An Hermes Airports press release issued here today says that in cooperation with the Fire Service a water arch will be created through which the airplane carrying Olympic silver medalist, sailor Pavlos Kontides, will pass while landing.

Congratulating Kontides, Hermes Airports Spokesman Adamos Aspris says that “Pavlos Kontides’ achievement fills us with joy and pride”.

It is further noted that it is the third time a water arch is formed at the airport in honour of a Cypriot athlete’s achievement.
