Cypriot champions AEL will face Belgian side Anderlecht in the Champions League playoffs following the UEFA draw in Switzerland on today Friday.
APOEL, meanwhile, will face Azerbaijan’s Neftchi Baku in the Europa League playoff with the first leg set to take place in Nicosia. .
Pambos Christodoulou’s side – appearing in their first Champions League season – have already beaten Linfield of Northern Ireland and Serbian champions Partizan with three overall wins and one draw. They have still to concede a goal in the competition. Greek Cup finalist Atromitos will face Newcastle United of the Premier League in the final qualifying round of the Europa League, while PAOK will take on Austrian side Rapid Vienna.
Liverpool have been drawn against Hearts
Atromitos, which finished fourth in the Greek super League and lost to Olympiakos in the cup final, will host Newcastle in Athens on August 23 before travelling to England for the return leg on August 30.
PAOK, which disposed of the Israeli side Bnei Yehuda in the previous round, will also play the first leg at home.
