Cyprus may not have even won an Olympic medal, but on the podium of the Olympic Games in London, we had Russian Olga Zabelinskaya who won the Bronze medal in Road Cycling.
The 32 year old has been living in Larnaca in Cyprus since year 2003. She states that Cyprus is ideal for road cycling in that it has mountains and valleys and that Cypriot drivers respect cyclists.
Olga has two children who attend Greek schools in Nicosia.
She is not new to the Olympic World her Father Sergei Sukhoruchenkov is a former Soviet cyclist and Olympic Champion. He won gold medal at the 1980 Olympic Games in Moscow, on the Individual Road Race.
You never know her children may follow the family trend and represent Cyprus in future Olympics.
