Police have yet to identify a young man pulled dead from the water near Ayia Napa sea caves Monday.
Ayia Napa lifeguards brought him to shore and he was taken by port police to Famagusta Hospital where he was found to be dead.
A pathologist said the young man appeared to have head and back injuries as the result of a failed dive.
He had not been struck by a boat propeller as previously thought.
A post mortem examination will take place at Larnaca Hospital Tuesday.
