British military bases are a big threat and should leave Cyprus

Turkish Cypriot daily Kibris newspaper (23.08.12) reports that Izzet Izcan, general secretary of the United Cyprus Party (BKP) has said that the British military bases in Cyprus are a big threat for the island and should leave. In a written statement yesterday, Izcan referred to the information on the activities of the British Sovereign Base in Dhekelia regarding the issue of Syria, and noted that “Cyprus faces the danger of a possible attack” because of these “military and espionage activities”.
