Cypriot high jumper Kyriakos Ioannou qualified yesterday Sunday for the final to take place on Tuesday at the Olympic stadium he was 7th in the standings of Group A with a jump high of 2.26 metres.

There will be fourteen athletes taking part in the High Jump finals on Tuesday.

Kyriakos stunned the sports world back in year 2007 when he took the bronze medal at the World Championships in Osaka Japan. That feat saw him become the first ever Cypriot World Championship medalist. Again he took the silver at the 2009 World Championships in Berlin.
