PAPHOS – A fire ithat raged in the Akourdalias, Theletras and Kathikas areas of Paphos District has been extinguished
A Fire Service spokeswoman said that firefighters would remain in the area overnight in case of further outbreaks.
Fire engines from a number of services had fought the blaze and airborne resources from the Forestry Department, police and the republic were also used.
The rough nature of the area and high winds made it difficult to bring the blaze under control.
Around 8 hectares of wild vegetation have been destroyed.
