ATHIENOU – A 54-year-old man has been charged in writing and released after allegedly getting drunk and firing shots.
The incident occurred at around 1am in Athienou when the man allegedly climbed onto the roof his house and began shooting into the air with his military-issue rifle.
The incident caused Cyprus police and UNFICYP forces to go on the alert and some activity was also noted in the nearby occupied area.
