An earthquake measuring 3.3 on the Richter scale was recorded just before seven this morning near the Apsiou community in the Limassol district.

The geological survey office in Nicosia recorded the jolt as having a depth of 10km and was felt in several areas of the district.

It was part of the Gerasa fault line activity and is currently being monitored by seismologists.

No injuries or damage to property have been reported.
